(…As Biggie Smallz would say on his holidays in the south west…)
We are really thrilled to be gearing up to return to Kerry at the end of this month… We have been busy bees in Civic Trust House preparing to go out on the road and are feeling nostalgic about the prospect of returning to St. Johns Theatre, Listowel and The Carnegie Arts Centre, Kenmare…
Listowel has a special place in out hearts and has the dubious honour of being our most toured to town! We were first the with the original production and tour of In Light of Salt Rings They Drew by Sadhbh Moriarty in An Seanchaí. Sadhbh’s script one the Eamonn Keane Drama Award at Listowel Writers Week that year and so we were invited back to perform the play in St. John’s Theatre in 2016. This was a new production, with new design, cast and direction…
We then came back down the following year with Conor Clancy’s Will It Fit In The Van? and received savage support! There was a great buzz around that show and it was great to share a few laughs with theatre-goers in the town.
Every time we have come to Listowel we have been welcomed so warmly and treated so well. The support and energy from the community has really stayed with us and gave each of those projects great momentum…
At a time of such intense darkness at a global level, we would like to acknowledge how lucky we are to be going out on tour with a new play, with a great team to such a supportive destination… Representing stories from our ancient past and folk tradition… We hope to honour our fortune with our work and look forward to sharing it with you…
Coming atcha Listowel! Feicfimid go luath sibh…
