Next up we are delighted to announce another collaboration with long-time friend of Strive Theatre, the versatile maker, designer and technician Benjamin Burns.
Production Designer - Benjamin Burns
Benjamin Burns is a sound designer, audio-visual designer, and artistic technical designer for film and theatre. Projects that he has worked on include: Wishful Thinking (Dublin Fringe Festival, 2019), The Sprawling Octopus of an Elevated Highway (Crawford Art Gallery, 2022), Gull (Dublin Fringe Festival, 2022), Tempestries (Dance Cork Firkin Crane, 2023), and Goll (Electric Picnic, 2023, & Ó Bhéal Winter Warmer, 2024). He is a part-time technician for the Department of Theatre, UCC.
In 2024 Benjamin was the recipient of an Arts Council Agility Award for film. His recent film works include: Pied Wagtail (2021), The Portal (2022), The Black Umbrella (2022), and Only the Sky Has No Answer (2024). Benjamin is co-director of the poetry event Ó Bheal go Béal, co-curator of the experimental film event CineSalon, and co-host of oNo NoNo improvised sound sessions. He is a member of the art-noise trio Exotic Bùcket. In 2022 Benjamin completed an M.Phil. in Music and Media Technologies at Trinity College, Dublin.
